WORK EXPERIENCE:

 

Human Resource Specialist – YRCI (FDIC-Client), Arlington, VA June 2010 - Present

 

. Develop and edit the Job Analysis for various job types and multiple grades.  Ensure the Job Analysis appropriately matches the PD or the information on the PD is derived from the PD or from the Subject Matter Expert.  Informs and advises the organization’s Administrative Specialist and Management of changes that need to be made to the Job Analysis and provide consultation to the organization concerning what can or cannot be done.

. Build the Job Vacancy via Monster from start to finish based on the Position description document. After building the vacancy draft the draft is forwarded to the organizations management for review and approval.

. Create, edit and develop questions for the vacancy in one of HR systems (Monster). Upon loading the questions in Monster, the weights are inputted.

. Weight the questions appropriately with the response weights and in return the weight calculator is populated to compute the weights and some of the questions are manually weighted with simple calculations.

. Generate correspondences to the applicants within the Monster system.  The correspondence consist of memorandums to the 10 point compensable veterans requesting missing documentation; Letters are forwarded requesting further explanation to point out the specialized experience of particular applicants.

. After the closing date of the Vacancy announcement I review the applicant’s resume and application to check for the applicant’s qualifications and/or if the applicant has the specialized experienced.  The review involves checking multiple documents to include the SF52, Schedule A documents, ICTAP/CTAP eligibility, Veteran documentation (SF15, DD FM 214, VA LTRs); adjudicating the Vet preference to include the if the veteran is a 5 point vet which includes ensuring the vet served during a credible period of service.  I am often sought out by Senior or Junior HR Specialists for my knowledge concerning Veterans or Veteran preference which includes particular entries on the DD FM 214 and other Veteran documents.  Furthermore, the review includes whether the applicant is Merit Promotion, Competitive/Exceptive Service, Tenure type and the Full Promotion Level of the applicant’s current or pass jobs; the review ultimately leads to which type of certificate the applicant will or will not be placed on or how the applicant will be referred; one of the last processes in the screening process is changing the applicant’s status in Monster.
