The Director of Engineering and Technology is responsible for planning the information technology future of the organization, as well as the implementation and maintenance of current systems.
He or she also must ensure maximum uptime and stability within internal and external systems and networks.
The essence of the role is technology leadership, and the Director must be able to rally the troops around the technology plan and path for the company and customers, especially when new trainFing is needed for upgrades and system changes.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage Director level managers of the Customer Support Center (CSC), which includes the Network Operations Center team, Engineering team and the Data Center team, in the execution of their duties and responsibilities, to include all activities from order management, implementation, trouble ticket management, hardware/software upgrade, training and people management.
Ensure that each department of NOC Technicians, Data Center employees and Engineers are highly trained in both technical capabilities, customer communication, vendor engagement and internal processes/procedures so that the customer is provided world-class support/service for both telecom and cloud services.
Manage deployment projects, technology upgrades/enhancements and ensure delivery in a timely manner.
Manage the design and deployment solutions based on business and technical requirements.
Responsible for all Engineering and Technology expenditures Ensure timely and proper engagement and mitigation of major outage events or issues.
Lead and effectively communicate with multiple parties, both vendor and customer, during an incident.
Lead the advancement of the overall network architecture.
Collaborate with other departments and vendors to build customer solutions and presentations Manage all Department heads to ensure projects are delivered in a timely manner and are of high quality.
Contribute towards the advancement of the company's overall product set Approve planned change introduction to production environment.
Partner with customers to solve issues or perceived issues with our provided solutions.
Ensure intra-team and inter-team collaboration to plan and execute software code upgrades and device maintenance.
Ensure that non-critical investigations into functionality that are not working as desired are remedied Ensure Data Center management maintains accurate records of the following:
Inventory / Inventory Systems Audits Elevations SOC Audits:
Director of Engineering and Technology will be the responsible party to ensure compliance with the SOC I and SOC II standards and that the company is prepared for the annual audits.
Process and Procedures:
Director of Engineering and Technology will ensure that all process and procedures are current, and updates occur as changes are adapted or on an annual basis.
Ensure training:
As the leader/manager of the CSC, Sales Engineering and Operations departments, it is critical that the Director of Engineering and Technology ensures that each team is thoroughly trained and capable of performing the duties assigned.
Ensure that expertise in telecommunication networks (MPLS and DIA) and cloud network hardware/software/configuration management is maintained with staff.
Maintain high standard of professionalism, focus, and patience managing multiple competing priorities in a fast-moving environment is key.
Manage direct reports who oversee many projects at any given time, in varying stages of completion.
It is necessary to be able to drive projects forward to generate customer satisfaction, revenue and quickly identify and resolve obstacles or delays.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
