DESCRIPTION
The Data Center Technician will be responsible for reporting to the data center facility assigned each day, be part of a team that completes the cabling infrastructure, assigned daily tasks, is aware of the timelines and budget for each project, participates in onsite meetings with the Data Center Lead Technician on a daily basis, conforms to the rules, regulations and security for each data center facility and participates in daily feedback to the Data Center Lead Technician.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Completes a weekly timesheet for work performed onsite per task.
Attends internal kickoff meetings to understand the scope of work, budget trackers and timelines.
Manage, checks all materials that arrive onsite.
Ensure all materials are delivered from the onsite staging area to the data center area being worked in.
Ensure that all safety and badging procedures onsite are adhered to.
Ensure that all Varia Systems installation practices are adhered to. Copper/Fiber cable install, terminate and test.
Participates in daily meetings with the Data Center Lead Technician onsite.
Ensure adherence to project budgets and timelines that are assigned daily.
Provides daily feedback on project progress to the Data Center Lead Technician
Works as a team to ensure that the project is a success.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Reliable transport to get to the data center facility.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
EDUCATION
Minimum High School Graduation.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 6 months-1 years of structured cabling experience.

CERTIFICATIONS
Varia Systems internal certification for data centers Beginner Level.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Walk jobsites in uneven terrain.
Regularly walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch.
Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 41 pounds or more.
Carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds for short distances.
Work in noisy areas with hotter and colder temperatures than standard office environmental conditions.
Occasional work in tight and/or narrow spaces, such as under raised floors.
OTHER REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Literacy of the English language.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
