Seeking a Communications Specialist HHCS
Our Client Company is a science philanthropy whose mission is to advance biomedical research and science education for the benefit of humanity. They are currently seeking a Communications Specialist in Ashburn, VA. The salary is $90k-$115k, depending on experience. Relocation assistance is available.
The position of Communications Specialist is an exciting opportunity to build finely tailored marketing and communications from the ground up, through working in tandem with leading scientists, committed executives, and creative operations professionals. The Communications Specialist oversees specific and high-priority external/internal communications channels to extend the research campuss reach, demonstrate impact, and perpetuate culture. He/she conceptualizes, plans and manages public events, ensures branding consistency between the companys corporate image and that of the research campus, while articulating the individuality of the campus itself. Working with the Communications staff, the Communications Specialist shares the companys programs and products with target audiences and, finally, assists with efforts to recruit top-quality scientists, students, and operations professionals to the company.
Requirements:
A Bachelors degree in Communications or related field of study (we are not looking for marketing or sales candidates)
7 - 10 years of practical and relevant experience
Demonstrated success and ease in working with scientists, academic researchers or similar professionals
in a high-caliber, intellectual environment
Intellectual depth, maturity and confidence in earning the trust of senior leadership, scientific and
program staff, and other constituents
A keen understanding of communications and their effectiveness, target audiences, and appropriate
messaging
Superior written and verbal communications skills
