Key responsibilities include completing and reviewing Form I-9s for accuracy and completeness; verifying the authenticity and acceptability of documentation; conducting audits of forms and related documents; maintaining accurate and complete records of forms and documentation; and providing information and guidance to employees on I-9 matters.

Assists new hires, in-person and virtually, with completing new hire paperwork (such as I9s, W-4s, child protective services forms, etc.
).
Reviews forms for errors and omissions; requests corrections when necessary.
Reviews I-9 forms for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulations Verifies employee identification and work authorization documentation Assists in identifying and implementing best practices for ensuring I-9 compliance Assists in developing and maintaining systems and procedures for effective administration and operations Maintains accurate, up-to-date files and records, ensuring confidentiality and security of sensitive information Researches and responds to inquiries, notices and requests from regulatory authorities Audits I-9 forms to ensure compliance with legal requirements and LCPS policies and procedures Identifies and resolves errors, discrepancies and potential compliance issues found during the audit process As needed, communicates and coordinates with employees in correcting or updating forms and supporting documentation Assists in preparing for internal and external audits; and responding to findings Provides information and assistance to employees in completion of I-9 forms Remains abreast of changes to I-9 processes and regulations and immigration laws Scans new hire session documents into a document repository Attends LCPS career fairs to assist new hires with paperwork.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience are also acceptable.
Education High school diploma or GED Experience Experience in human resources, regulatory compliance, or related work, including employment eligibility verification Licenses and Certifications NA Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of federal regulations governing employment eligibility and Form I-9 requirements Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues effectively Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications and employee information systems and databases Exceptional attention to detail and high degree of accuracy in data review and verification Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and materials Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships Physical Requirements The following provides a brief description of physical requirements for this job:
