As a Meeting and Event Manager you should bring to the table the ability to effectively plan out logistics of meeting and event functions with keen attention to detail and sharp execution.
This position is primarily virtual M-F 8am-5pm with flexibility to work in the office for meetings/events, as needed, as well as evenings/weekends on occasion.
Occasional travel may be required.
What you will have an opportunity to do:
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent BA in Hotel Management or minimum 3 years' experience in conference center or event planning management Three years' experience in the hospitality industry, preferably associated with Corporate Conference Centers or Conference Center Resorts Supervisory preferred Extensive knowledge of conference service equipment, set-up styles, and audio-visual Preferred experience as a Sales & Catering system administrator or key-op Excellent computer software knowledge; to include Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Sales & Catering Systems Ability to communicate effectively with clients, to all other departments and interdepartmentally Organizational skills Your Role:
Manage the Event Order distribution process to ensure accuracy and meet all deadlines for reporting & communication needs Responsible for managing all details of planning Assist with documentation of standards and training plans for the MES team Support VZW leadership through scheduling and projects as assigned Communicates effectively, verbally and in writing, all details of events to appropriate personnel in timely manner and meet with employee groups, when necessary, to ensure event details are executed flawlessly Maintain the highest level of employee/guest relations, and excellent working relationships with operational departments and clients Ensures highest customer service levels and department/property goals are achieved through effective communication, creativity, fact-finding, leadership and motivation Knowledgeable with the property's accommodations, meeting facilities and support services available at and through the property in order to best promote the effective utilization of the property by assigned corporate accounts Coordinates vendors, obtains quotes, client contracts etc.
Takes a proactive approach toward client satisfaction including creative solutions Performs some administrative duties Meets with property Event Coordinators and Community Managers regularly to ensure an open line of communication, encourage employee morale and problem solve any employee issues Stays current with industry trends Follow grooming standards maintaining a professional image in dress and mannerisms What are we looking for?
