Ensures that assigned products are designed and developed in a manner that meets or exceeds system requirements in a creative and efficient manner in order to maintain a competitive edge in the marketplace.
Develops digital and analog electronics (circuit boards, power supplies, filters, etc.
) by studying system requirements, conducting trade studies, performing engineering analyses, designing components using solid electrical engineering principles, managing the integration and test of prototypes, and supporting production.
Designs electronic circuits, power supplies, filters, etc.
, using appropriate design and analysis tools, in a proficient manner in order to maintain schedule objectives.
Generates necessary documentation packages (specifications, schematics, layouts, drawings, BOMs, etc.
) to facilitate accurate and quality production builds.
Conducts thorough root cause analyses to evaluate issues in order to implement corrective actions and resolutions in a timely manner.
Works effectively with other department functions, specifically Purchasing, Production and Quality, to ensure a smooth transition from product design to production.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops or training courses, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Lead or coach less experienced engineers.
QUALIFICATIONSBasic
Qualifications:
Must be a US person as defined by the US regulations:

Experience:
Bachelors degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and work experience in the field.
Degree is preferred.
Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience designing and developing products in a medium to high level production rate.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Solid understanding in the in the design of computer systems at the macro level (computers, networking, video, audio, memory, drives/drivers, operating systems, application software, etc.
).
Ability to systematically design and configure secure computing devices (computers, VOIP, video conference systems, networks, etc.
) using solid electrical engineering skills.
Knowledgeable in the design of electronics products meeting either commercial or military level requirements in EMI/EMC environments.
Proven ability to identify, analyze, and provide successful solutions to engineering problems.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced production environment to meet schedule commitments in accordance with the product development lifecycle.
Proficiency with OrCAD (schematic), P-Spice (analysis), and PADS (PCB layout) software tools, or similar tools.
Familiarity with SolidWorks or other comparable 3D parametric softwareFamiliarity with ERP/MRP software.
M1 software preferred.
Strong attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to contribute in a team first environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills for interaction with staff and customers.
Effective presentation skills and ability to professionally respond to questions and comments.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
