The New Product Introduction (NPI) Design Engineer will play a critical role as a quality advocate working closely with Engineering and Production to ensure every new product launch meets or exceeds the high standards of CIS Secure and our clients.
This individual will be solutions driven with an unwavering commitment to quality in every aspect of the design, manufacturing and testing process to help create a variety of Unified Communication products including phones, laptops, monitors, printers, switches, rugged kits and many more.

Responsibilities:
Provide quality inputs & assurance of key tasks in the phase/gate process.
Tolerance stacking analysis of mechanical componentsQA of accept/reject criteria at each gateQA of DVT plans and qualification testingBOM analysis & verificationQA of manufacturing readinessQuality control plans in production (Incoming, In-process, Final) and implementationFirst Pass Yield in productionAnalysis of early production failures and customer feedbackDefine Quality/reliability specs, and provide Quality inputs in design reviewsImplement quality-at-source in Engineering design & production.
Reduce quality inspections & identify critical to quality attributes.
Develop related audits for complianceParticipate & provide Quality inputs in DFMA/DFMEA/PFMEA analysis, DVT plans, and manufacturing readiness (QC),Drive build/ship authorizations as final gate before customer shipmentsPerform all duties in accordance with all company policies including adherence to good safety practices.
Training of personnel.
Perform other essential duties as necessary or directed.
Basic
Qualifications:
Must meet the definition of a US person as defined by the US regulations:
Any individual who is granted US citizenshipAny individual who is granted US permanent residence (ie, a Green Card holder)Any individual who is granted status as a protected personAbility to work independently to produce the highest level of quality and productivity against established standards.
Self-motivated and multi-task oriented.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently.
Ability to work effectively with people on an individual basis and in a team environment.
Education and ExperienceBS degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or 10 years of equivalent industry experience in design and manufacturing quality assurance3- 5 years of experience in New Product Development, with focus on design quality assurance and product transition to production1-2 years of experience in process qualityFamiliarity with process quality and problem-solving tools such as Lean Six SigmaAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, plans, blueprints, schematics and technical data.
Ability to interpret and write technical procedures and documents.
