Summary:
Performs several functions aimed at improving the performance of Cubic suppliers and enhancing customer/supplier relationships. Works closely with Purchasing, Receiving Inspection and Engineering to continually improve internal and external processes that provide productive customer/supplier relationships. This position typically works under general supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise substantial and discretionary decision-making authority. Responsibilities:
Manages the Approved Suppliers List (ASL) utilized by domestic Cubic entities. Schedules and conducts supplier surveys in the United States and Canada. Produces, analyzes, and delivers Supplier Performance Reports. Coordinates the Supplier Corrective Action Request process. Performs internal purchase order file audits. Coordinates supplier improvement campaigns. Works closely with Purchasing and Engineering when addressing supplier related issues. Provides on-site source inspections and supplier surveillance as required. Participates in the development of Cost of Quality analyses and generates the required reports. Performs special projects as assigned by the Quality Manager and Purchasing Manager. Facilitates customer/supplier relationships that promote open discourse and measurable performance improvement. Monitors and improves the internal processes that impact supplier performance. Monitors supplier performance, identifies adverse trends, and initiates corrective action. Develops and implements supplier quality improvement programs, including tracking, analyzing, reporting, and problem solving. Minimum Job Requirements:
Four-year degree in engineering or related field plus a minimum of two years related experience. Expected to hold a current American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification as a Certified Quality Technician with the ability and willingness to achieve ASQ Certification as a Quality Engineer. Expected to be an ASQ (or acceptable alternative) certified Quality Management Systems auditor and rise to lead auditor certification in a timely manner. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, MRP/ERP system (Manufacturing Resource Planning) and Visio. Must have a fundamental understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems, quality improvement tools and techniques together with the ability to acquire and analyze data using standard quantitative methods. Must be able to prioritize and complete multiple tasks within deadlines. Frequent and potentially prolonged domestic travel and limited international travel are required. For this reason and for security reasons in some supplier facilities, a current Passport is required.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
