What you'll be doing As a Principal Data Engineer, you will serve a critical role to our developing data governance practice to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our data across our enterprise. You will lead projects with a strong focus on business knowledge coupled with a deep understanding of data organization, database design, data governance strategy, ER data modeling, data classification and taxonomy, table design, and data security. You will provide data subject matter expertise to various project teams as it relates to data management and governance. You will work on a cross-functional team across platforms to play a key role in requirements, design, and in developing and delivering the next generation enterprise data enablement solutions. You will gather detailed business requirements from clients, work with enterprise architects and work jointly on data designs to support applications/metrics, design data interfaces and stores as required, lead data architecture and data product deliverables, and oversee development and QA activities supporting data governance, Operational reporting, insights, and analytics. Design, develop, maintain, monitor and execute ETL processes using Informatica Power Center. Identify data sources, integrate multiple sources or types of data, and develop expertise with multiple data sources. Develop and lead data strategy, priorities and goals for master data. Take control of sophisticated models that support the largest Engineering initiatives like Cassandra migration. Maintain uniformity and consistency in the toolkit and user experience that has been built by the Engineering Analytics team. Lead governance/ best practice initiatives to ensure commonality between dashboards and metrics. What we're looking for You'll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience. Six or more years of relevant work experience. Experience programming/scripting/coding (SQL, Python, etc.) and knowledge of relational databases. Experience with data platforms & tools:
Teradata, Oracle, BigQuery, Snowflake, Stibo, etc. Experience with distributed data/computing tools:
Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, MySQL, etc. Even better if you have:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science. Experience programming/scripting/coding (SQL, Python, etc.) and knowledge of relational databases. Experience with data platforms & tools:
Teradata, Oracle, BigQuery, Snowflake, Stibo, etc. Experience with distributed data/computing tools:
Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, MySQL, etc. Extensive experience with ETL technologies (Informatica, SSIS, Power Center Cloud Tools, Informatica Snowflake Connector). Influencing skills with cross functional teams, suppliers and customers. Strong critical thinking concerning tradeoffs across capabilities and requirements of different systems. Experience in data management and data mining techniques. Experience in working with databases, reporting tools and ETL software. Written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Data Science & Machine Learning, Systems Architecture & EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
